Nobody knows what the emergency was and the altitude of the plane when the emergency hit. It may have just taken off or was coming into land and lost power. There aren’t just fields to always choose from when you’re flying a plane 200ft above the ground and the engines fail. Based on his speed coming in he probably thought he was going to be just in front of that car but the landing flare bled off a lot of speed. Not enough in the article to know but “land in a field somewhere” isn’t always an option.

That’s so wrong in my opinion. That pilot chose to leave the ground, he should have to take the risk of putting it down in at least the ditch beside the road. If someone in that car had been killed that pilot better have faced murder charges .

I live near where this happened. This is actually the 3rd time in 4 months a plane has crashed on the interstate here. This one is only getting attention because they actually hit a car and there is video.
I don’t know what has been up with all the plane crashes lately. Apparently people here can’t drive OR fly.
